Meet Inge
Inge Kern, after working as a Chemist laboratory assistant and social worker, studied to be an arts and craft teacher in 1981/82. Around the same time she started collecting old and new glass beads and designing jewelry. She has collaborated with galleries in Bayerisch Zell, Bonn and Munich and regularly participated in art and craft markets in Rosenheim (Lokschuppen), Scheyern and Munich. In 2000 she exhibited at the Grassi-Messe in Leipzig, 2006 at the Designmesse Bonn and 2008 at Textile Art Berlin.
Her pieces are almost always unique and one of a kind, ranging from minimalistic with a reduced color palette to large statement pieces in a variety of techniques, colors, shapes, sizes and rhythms. The beads mostly originate from Bohemia, Murano and Africa and from her own workshop.
